Today we spent some time using Playdough. It's a great way to work with shapes and talk about things we are interested in. Here some cheese pancakes are being made!
Lot's of cutting, squeezing, pulling, rolling, pinching and stretching took place...

working on the fine details of a snowman!

More pancakes!
Flattening out the piece before attaching it to the main body.

ABC's And Shapes with Mickey and Minnie Mouse

It was another fun filled week in the Preschool. Our theme during the past week was "shapes all around us" in which we discovered that all objects contain shapes. This week we reinforced many of the things that we learnt using a CD-ROM that allowed us to play with shape and discover the ABC's
Mickey Mouse Preschool CD-ROM
ABC's and Shapes with Mickey and Minnie is fun

Hands on experience using a computer mouse! Sometimes a little team work makes things easier to do.

We continued working with shapes and discovering that they are all around us. Everywhere we look we can find circles, squares, triangles, hearts. ovals and so many more. Even our play town road has a lot of different shapes on it.

We used our flip flap books to learn and discover more shapes among us in nature, machinery and transportation.
Our clothes as well have shape patterns on them. Stripes, stars and even strawberries patterns are shapes!

If you look carefully you'll find that our play toys also contain shapes!
Yesterday we made an elephant using mostly circles. Today we followed up a triangle to make a body with eyes, a nose, a mouth and arms and legs. I wonder what shape will use tomorrow?

We're back!

The Preschool opened again today and we were as busy as ever learning about new things. We've begun a unit on animals and the sounds they make!

books are fun to read and one of the best ways to increase vocabulary. If you're not reading to your child or children everyday please begin to. Bedtime stories bring everyone closer together.

 Making new discoveries!
Arts and Crafts is always a fun way to learn about shapes and sizes. Today we made an elephant using circles, triangles and rectangles.

We're back and better than ever!

It's been a great holiday for all of us at American Language Soka. We're well rested and ready to get back to work and have fun. BabySigns is the best way to jump communication with your newborn. It's fun and raises IQ while relieving your baby's frustrations and builds a closer bond for all of the family. Let's Get Started!
The Preschool returns on Tuesday the 18th of August. We're so excited to see everyone again! Get ready for more fun using daily English. We hope that you've had a great holiday. See you soon!
Looking forward to seeing everyone in our Elementary School, Jr. High School and High School classes. It's been a hot summer. I wonder how much swimming everyone has been doing. Please tell us everything next week!
Of course we are looking forward to seeing our adult students! It's our pleasure to help you with both daily and business English language lessons. Don't forget that we also teach TOEIC for those interested in career advancement. See you!
